Goodbye

Obviously, everyone has different ideas of beauty.  We may not all have the same tastes, but the least we can do is keep an open mind and learn to appreciate many kinds of beauty, not just your own, fixed perception of it.  I hope you liked mine, and I also hope that I may have opened your eyes just a bit.

My Beautiful Creations

My perfect, delicious homemade pizza.  I love making homemade pizzas, so I think that makes it even more beautiful!

Video

No place like home :).  Please disregard the last 30 seconds.  This was the only clip of this scene that I could find!

Art

It's the metaphor.  It has to be.

Love the coloring.  Love it.

*Again, couldn't pick just one. Sorry!

Not Beautiful

Beauty in failure?  I think not.  There is not one thing beautiful about that banana bread I made.  I can hardly even call it banana bread.  Yes, it tasted as bad as it looks.

1.  Please don't ever wear camo unless you are hunting.
2.  At least wear it the right way?  NCTC, while not the most formal place in the world, IS a public place.
3.  Proper clothing size is key.  Everything you're wearing is at least three sizes too big.
4.  Bag goes up on shoulder, or over both shoulders.  Actually, just ditch that yellow monkey.
5.  Half ponytails are soo 1999.

Manufactured Beauty

It amazes me how good companies are getting at packaging products these days.  I have no idea what Outback Beans are, but the bag makes them look pretty tasty.  Kind of old world/take them on a hike.    I wonder if they taste like that, too?  And, the jerky looks like victory flags.  If you eat it, you win.  Beautiful marketing.

Beauty Taken For Granted

This may seem silly, but think about it.  I know that this isn't beautiful in an idealized sense, but think of how ugly this world would be without traffic lights!

I definitely take sunrises for granted.  I woudn't have even known that there was a beautiful sunrise that morning, but my little sister made me look at it.  I was too lazy to go outside to take a picture of it, so I had to take it behind the screen of my window.  Can I argue that it makes it more beautiful?

Spontaneous Beauty

Trash Art?  I think yes.  When I tied up the bag and set it down, I realized that the color blue of the blanket in the background, combined with the edge of the pillow and the shadow of the bag made it beautiful.  I couldn't take my eyes off of it for some reason.  Call me crazy.

At first glance, this looked like some ugly trees. But, I loved how they grew in separate directions, just to curve inward back toward each other.  I "grew" to love them ;).  (Sorry, bad joke.)

Beauty in Motion

I'm so happy that I actually caught those ducks flying away on camera, that I don't care if you can't really see them.  Either way, they are surely beautiful.  So is my cat Milo--such a nice big brother the way he cleans up my other cat, Kit-Cat (not my choice of name).

Artificial Beauty

There is nothing "artificial" about these two houses.  Yes, the Swenson House is the biggest in Thief River, so it kind of seems like cheating to use it as an example, but it needs credit.  And as for the other picture, who knew that there was a house in the woods behind Greenwood cemetary?  I followed the trail, and I looked up and saw this enormous and beautiful house!  I didn't want to trespass, so that's why the picture was taken behind trees.

Beauty in Nature

It was challenging to find a lot of beautiful things in Thief River Falls, MN (a.k.a. the most boring place on Earth), but I actually had a hard time choosing just two photos (as you can tell, I chose three).  I think they speak for themselves as to why they are beautiful.

Hello

This blog was created to go along with the Beauty Scavenger Hunt we did in Mr. Reyolds's College Comp. 2 class.  I took most of the pictures on my cellphone.  Enjoy!
